Triple Candie inaugurated its new Case Study room with a selection of works from the Museo de reproducciones fotográficas. The Museo is a lending collection of 1,200 high-quality photographic reproductions cut from books on the visual arts, crafts, design, and architecture. The reproductions' cataloguing records -- which are incomplete and based exclusively on the objects' original credit line -- include detailed condition reports that are updated each time the works are de-installed. The colllection was purchased by Dakis Joannou in 2010 and remains available for loan through the Deste Collection in Athens.
About the Case Study: Triple Candie's Case Study was a 24' x 14' room with windows on three sides, a wood-beam and copper ceiling overhead, and a massive museum display case in the center. The 12'-long mahogany case contained 72 glass-topped, open-storage drawers, and had a greenhouse-style glass top. The case was used for temporary exhibitions.
